
This year’s Peak Judging Panel was once again presented with strong contenders from all categories for the overall winner of the Premier’s Award for Excellence in Public Sector Management. After considering the merits of each category winner, the Panel selected Eventscorp’s submission, Busselton Ironman, to receive this prestigious Award.
The Western Australian Ironman Triathlon held annually in Busselton has become one of WA’s premier regional events delivering more visitors and the highest economic impact than any other regional event in the State’s history. It is recognised as a ‘destination event’ and promotes Australia’s South West nationally and internationally. The event receives financial and promotional support from Eventscorp.

One of Tourism WA’s six strategic objectives is to secure the future of regional tourism. Since 2004, Ironman WA Triathlon has benefited Australia’s South West through increased visitors to the region. It has also attracted national and international media attention and has generated social benefits for the community. The event itself has drawn support from 1,500 local volunteers who have embraced the event.
