The peak panel is comprised of eminent persons from academia, the private sector and from the Western Australian community as well as a representative of the Public Sector Commission.
The short-listing panel is comprised of public sector employees with recent experience in the Australian New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) Executive Fellows Program.
Each category panel includes a member of the peak panel, the short-listing panel member for the respective category, and a representative of the Public Sector Commission.
The identities of the panel members will be protected during the selection and assessment process to ensure it is free from any unfair influence or bias which may prejudice the integrity of the Awards.
Whilst many projects have wide-ranging benefits that may fit into more than one category, this year’s process encourages agencies to delve into the detail of their projects. Panels are looking for focused and tailored applications, as well as presentations that highlight targeted aspects of projects within the context of broader implications and benefits.
Initially, only five applicants within each category will be invited to deliver a presentation to the relevant category panel. It is expected that invitations to present will be sent in May/June for presentations to be held in July/August 2009, subject to the panels’ availability.
After these presentations, the category panels may choose to invite further agencies to present.
To recognise all applicants, this website will be updated with details of all projects submitted following the conclusion of the 2009 Awards (similar to details provided for the 2008 Award Entrants). Agencies are encouraged to find out more about the projects and explore opportunities for collaboration. To ensure the information is of a high quality, the Commission encourages agencies to make their Online Application comprehensive and compelling, and to keep their website up to date.
Finalists and winners will be invited to a ceremony hosted by the Premier (date to be confirmed via invitation after category finalists and winners have been selected).
