Premier's Message

The Premier’s Awards for Excellence in Public Sector Management recognise exemplary achievements in service to the community. They seek to showcase and inspire agencies, local government authorities and universities.

It gives me great pleasure to invite entries for the 2009 Premier’s Awards for Excellence in Public Sector Management. Now in their fourteenth year, they offer an outstanding opportunity for your organisation to promote projects that better serve the community of Western Australia and play a very important role in motivating and inspiring others.

The 2009 categories are:

• Developing the Economy
• Revitalising the Regions
• Strengthening Families and Communities
• Managing the Environment
• Improving Government

The criteria for the awards are focussed on outcomes and evaluation with an emphasis on superior delivery of service and the role of leadership in that delivery.

I strongly encourage all Directors General and Chief Executives to raise the profile of projects that have achieved exceptional performance and outstanding service delivery for Western Australian people by nominating for the Awards.

This is an opportunity to be recognised by Government, your peers and the community for being innovative and achieving excellence in service delivery.
